Hi Jacques, is it possible to do Emerald Dome safely without gear?
Hey Riis, the Jonkershoek side requires some difficult exposed scrambling.
The safer less technical option would be starting at Berg River dam and going up via the old fort. This will be a long day hike, 30km in total. The fort trail ends about 4km from the peak.
